Something Whispered Follow Me Lyrics – Nightwish

[Verse 1: Floor Jansen]
In this opening verse, Jansen describes the world as a blank canvas, full of potential and ancient wisdom. The imagery of an untouched landscape conveys the purity and promise of life, unspoiled by the trials of existence. Standing at this "birthplace of a glorious yesterday," the singer reflects on the timelessness of life’s mysteries and the beauty of beginnings, ready to embark on a personal journey.

[Chorus: Floor Jansen, Troy Donockley]
The chorus introduces the pivotal moment of the song: a mysterious whisper urging the singer to follow. This symbolizes the inner call to seek something real, authentic, and deeply meaningful. The mention of "stardust to dust" emphasizes the cyclical nature of life, where moments of transformation are woven into the "tapestry" of existence. The whisper represents the voice of intuition, guiding the singer toward self-awareness and purpose.

[Verse 2: Floor Jansen]
In the second verse, Jansen encourages the listener to embrace adventure and creativity. The instructions to "find your mountain" and "paint a forest blue" symbolize the limitless possibilities of personal expression and exploration. The verse also speaks of embracing both the beauty and chaos of life, represented by the "perfect storm" and the "silence of a thrilling fall," suggesting that true growth comes from both challenge and surrender to the unknown.

[Chorus: Floor Jansen, Troy Donockley]
The chorus repeats the invitation to follow the whisper, reinforcing the theme of discovering something hidden within oneself. The journey from "stardust to dust" is a metaphor for the fleeting but significant moments of life, and the "tapestry in between" highlights how these moments form a continuous thread of personal growth and experience.

[Outro: Floor Jansen, Floor Jansen & Troy Donockley]
In the outro, the repetition of "follow me" echoes the persistent whisper of the inner voice, urging the singer to continue their journey. The layering of voices creates a haunting, dreamlike atmosphere, reflecting the lingering presence of this inner guidance. The recurring phrase "something whispered" symbolizes the elusive but ever-present call to self-discovery, hinting that the search for meaning is a constant process that comes from within.
