WIU, born Vinicius William Sales de Lima on February 16, 2002, in Fortaleza, Ceará, is a rising star in Brazil’s vibrant trap and hip-hop scene. Starting his musical journey early, WIU began producing beats using FL Studio and uploading his tracks under the name W$LL on SoundCloud and YouTube. His talent caught attention quickly, and in 2019, he joined forces with 30PRAUM, the influential label led by fellow artist Matuê. That same year, he dropped his debut single “Sucrilhos,” and contributed to Matuê’s acclaimed album Máquina do Tempo, helping to establish his name in the industry.

In 2021, WIU took things to the next level by signing with Sony Music through 30PRAUM, further amplifying his reach. His 2022 debut album, Manual de Como Amar Errado, showcased his emotional depth and genre-blending skills—fusing trap, afro-pop, and reggaeton into a fresh, introspective sound. The breakout single “Coração de Gelo” became a massive hit, earning triple diamond certification in Brazil.

Never one to play it safe, WIU returned in 2024 with his second album Vagabundo de Luxo, an experimental project that pushes creative boundaries. Tracks like “Rainha da Finesse” blend elements of jersey club, funk carioca, and reggaeton, underlining his reputation as a genre-defying artist. Through collaborations with names like Teto and Matuê, and a distinct artistic vision, WIU has become a leading voice in Brazil’s next generation of urban music.
