Valentin Le Du, better known as Vald, is a well-known French rapper born on July 15, 1992, in Aulnay-sous-Bois, a suburb of Paris. Before diving into music, Vald explored a wide range of academic interests, including mathematics, information technology, and sound engineering, which highlights his versatility and broad skill set.

Vald began making waves in the music world with his 2012 mixtape, NQNTMQMQMB, where he introduced his distinctive style that blends humor and bold, provocative lyrics. His reputation continued to grow with the 2014 release of his EP NQNT, which featured the breakout single “Bonjour.” His debut studio album, Agartha (2017), achieved platinum status in France, firmly establishing him as a prominent figure in the rap scene. In 2018, Vald released XEU, which topped the French charts and went quadruple platinum.

Known for his unique blend of humor and controversial themes, Vald has earned both praise and criticism. His 2019 album, Ce monde est cruel, took a more serious turn, addressing political and societal issues. Vald’s ability to mix cloud rap with comedic elements has allowed him to stand out and build a diverse fanbase.

In 2019, he launched his own label, Échelon Records, and collaborated with Heuss l’Enfoiré on Horizon Vertical. While the album had mixed commercial success, it received critical acclaim. Vald’s 2021 album V achieved gold status within three days and platinum in just two weeks, solidifying his influence in the music industry.
