Soobin Hoàng Sơn

Soobin Hoàng Sơn, whose real name is Nguyễn Hoàng Sơn, was born on September 10, 1992, in Hanoi, Vietnam. Known for his smooth vocals and emotional delivery, Soobin has become one of Vietnam’s most influential and versatile pop artists. Growing up in a musical household—his father being a traditional Vietnamese musician—he developed a deep appreciation for both modern and classical sounds. He began studying music early, eventually enrolling in the Vietnam National Academy of Music, where he trained in jazz piano. His foundation in both Eastern and Western music shaped his eclectic style.

Soobin first gained attention in Vietnam’s underground music scene, later rising to mainstream fame as a member of the renowned SpaceSpeakers collective. His breakout hit “Phía sau một cô gái” (written by Tiên Cookie) in 2016 catapulted him into the spotlight and remains one of his most iconic songs. Over the years, he has experimented with genres ranging from R&B and hip-hop to EDM and ballads, earning him the nickname “Prince of Ballad.” His ability to adapt and evolve has kept his music fresh and relevant. In addition to his singing career, Soobin has served as a coach on The Voice Kids Vietnam, helping to nurture the next generation of Vietnamese talent.
