Wuthering Waves

Wuthering Waves is a free-to-play, open-world action RPG developed and published by Kuro Games. Originally released on May 22, 2024, for Windows, Android, and iOS, the game later made its way to PlayStation 5 in January 2025 and macOS in March 2025. Powered by Unreal Engine 4, Wuthering Waves drops players into a hauntingly beautiful, post-apocalyptic world, where they step into the role of “Rover”—a mysterious protagonist who awakens without any memory. Set in the aftermath of a world-shaking disaster called “The Lament,” players must uncover the secrets of a broken civilization while forging alliances with powerful warriors known as Resonators.

The game takes place on Solaris-3, a world rich in lore and filled with both technological ruins and fantastical landscapes. Blending science fiction and mystical elements, Wuthering Waves delivers fast-paced, combo-driven combat where each character brings unique Intro and Outro abilities to the battlefield. A gacha system is used to unlock new characters and weapons, adding an element of strategy and collection. Though the game faced early technical setbacks, its compelling narrative, deep combat system, and vibrant visuals quickly won over a dedicated fan base. With regular updates and evolving storylines, Wuthering Waves continues to grow in popularity and remains one of the standout action RPGs in the modern gaming landscape.
