Sha Gz, born Shavar Williams on January 4, 2005, in the Bronx, New York, is an emerging talent in the drill rap scene. Growing up in the Eastchester Gardens projects, he was deeply influenced by the rich musical culture surrounding him, which shaped his sound and style.

He began making waves in 2020 with tracks like “Rosa” and the breakout hit “New Opp.” The latter, which sampled Ski Mask the Slump God’s “Nuketown,” became a viral sensation, amassing nearly 10 million views on YouTube and over 70 million streams on Spotify. These early successes helped establish Sha Gz as a force to watch in the drill rap scene.

In 2023, Sha Gz signed with Signal Records/Columbia Records and dropped his debut mixtape, Ruthless Gz. Featuring collaborations with artists like SDot, Jay Hound, Kenzo B, and DThang, the mixtape showcases his evolving sound with standout tracks such as “Why” and “Leave It At That.” The release solidified his place in the drill rap scene and marked a major milestone in his career.
