Seun Kuti

Seun Kuti, born on January 11, 1983, in Lagos, Nigeria, is a celebrated musician, singer, and saxophonist. He is best known for leading Egypt 80, the influential Afrobeat band originally formed by his father, the legendary Fela Kuti. Growing up in the Kalakuta Republic, Fela’s iconic commune, Seun was immersed in music from an early age. He began performing with Egypt 80 as a backup singer at just nine years old, and by the age of twelve, he was already taking the stage as a lead vocalist before his father.
