Scowl is a vibrant rock band from Santa Cruz, California, known for their electrifying live performances and a unique blend of hardcore punk and alternative rock. Formed in 2019, the group consists of vocalist Kat Moss, guitarists Malachi Greene and Mikey Bifolco, bassist Bailey Lupo, and drummer Cole Gilbert. The band made their mark with their self-titled EP in 2019, followed by “Reality After Reality…” later that same year. Their debut full-length album, How Flowers Grow, was released in 2021 via Flatspot Records, cementing their reputation with its punchy riffs and dynamic sound. In 2023, they followed up with Psychic Dance Routine, which further solidified their standing in the rock world.
Scowl’s live shows have earned them widespread recognition, with the band sharing stages with legendary acts like System of a Down, Korn, Turnstile, and Deftones. They also performed at the prestigious 2023 Coachella festival, a defining moment in their career. In 2023, Scowl toured Australia alongside Sunami and Speed, continuing to build a global fanbase.
In 2024, the band signed with Dead Oceans and released their single “Special.” Fans are eagerly awaiting their sophomore album, Are We All Angels, set for release in April 2025.
