Beni Hafner, professionally known as Oimara, is a German singer-songwriter who has captivated audiences with his distinctive blend of traditional Bavarian dialect and contemporary music styles. Born in 1992 in Tegernsee, Bavaria, Oimara grew up on the Hafner-Alm, a mountain pasture run by his parents, where they operated a restaurant and an animal sanctuary. His early years were spent immersed in the natural beauty and cultural richness of the Bavarian Alps.

At the age of 17, Oimara moved to Mallorca, Spain, to work as a chef, before returning to Germany to pursue a career in hotel management. However, his passion for music eventually led him to abandon his studies in favor of becoming a singer-songwriter. He adopted the name “Oimara,” a Bavarian term meaning “Almerer,” symbolizing his deep connection to the alpine culture.

Oimara’s musical career took off with his 2018 debut album Bierle in da Sun, which showcased his ability to merge Bavarian traditions with modern sounds. In 2022, his album Wannabe further solidified his reputation, but it was his 2025 single “Wackelkontakt” that brought him widespread recognition. The track topped the charts in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, becoming the most streamed song on Spotify in Germany that year. It also earned the title of the après-ski and carnival hit of the season, making it the first Bavarian-language number-one hit since Spider Murphy Gang’s “Skandal im Sperrbezirk” in 1981.

Oimara is also known for his electrifying live performances, performing at venues like Circus Krone and festivals such as Rosenheim Sommerfestival and Hirsch. His music continues to resonate with fans, blending humor, cultural pride, and a contemporary twist on Bavarian tradition.
