Mayday Parade

Mayday Parade is a prominent American rock band that originated in Tallahassee, Florida, in 2005. The group was formed through the merger of two local bands, Kid Named Chicago and Defining Moment. The band’s core members include vocalist Derek Sanders, guitarists Brooks Betts and Alex Garcia, bassist Jeremy Lenzo, and drummer Jake Bundrick.

The band’s journey began with the release of their debut EP, Tales Told by Dead Friends, in 2006, which sold over 50,000 copies independently. In 2007, they dropped their first full-length album, A Lesson in Romantics, under Fearless Records, which went on to sell over 200,000 copies, marking a major milestone in their career. Their success led them to sign with Atlantic Records in 2009.

Known for their emotionally charged lyrics and high-energy performances, Mayday Parade quickly cultivated a dedicated fan base. Their discography includes albums like Black Lines (2015), produced by Mike Sapone, showcasing their evolution as both musicians and songwriters. The band’s music blends elements of emo-punk and pop-rock, often exploring themes of love, loss, and personal growth.
