About Martin Garrix
Martin Garrix, born Martijn Gerard Garritsen on May 14, 1996, in Amstelveen, Netherlands, is a celebrated Dutch DJ and music producer known for his immense contributions to electronic dance music (EDM). His passion for music began at a young age, learning the guitar by eight, but it was in 2004, after seeing DJ Tiësto perform at the Athens Olympics, that his fascination with electronic music truly sparked. This led him to explore music production, primarily using FL Studio.
Garrix’s rise to fame started in 2012 with his remix of Enrique Iglesias’s “Tonight (I’m Loving You),” which earned him recognition from Tiësto. The following year, at just 17 years old, his single “Animals” catapulted him into international stardom, making him the youngest DJ to headline the Ultra Music Festival.
Throughout his career, Garrix has remained a dominant force in the EDM world, topping DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list for three consecutive years in 2016, 2017, and 2018. His music catalog includes major hits like “In the Name of Love” featuring Bebe Rexha and “Scared to Be Lonely” with Dua Lipa. In 2016, he launched his own record label, STMPD RCRDS, solidifying his position as a major industry player.
In 2022, Garrix released his debut album, Sentio, displaying his musical diversity. He continues to electrify audiences at global festivals like Tomorrowland and Creamfields. Looking ahead, Garrix is set to perform at London’s Gunnersbury Park on August 16, 2025, marking his first UK show in seven years.
