Arijit Singh, born on April 25, 1987, in Jiaganj, Murshidabad, West Bengal, is one of India’s most beloved playback singers, known for his soulful voice and versatility across various music genres. Hailing from a family with a rich musical background, Arijit’s father, Kakkar Singh, is a Punjabi Sikh, while his mother, Aditi Singh, is a Bengali Hindu. From an early age, he was immersed in music, receiving training in Indian classical music under Rajendra Prasad Hazari and learning the tabla from Dhirendra Prasad Hazari.

Arijit’s rise to fame began in 2005 when he participated in the reality show “Fame Gurukul,” finishing in sixth place. This led to a successful career in playback singing, with his breakthrough track “Tum Hi Ho” from the 2013 hit film Aashiqui 2 earning him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer.

Known for his ability to blend classical melodies with modern sounds, Arijit has delivered numerous chart-topping hits, including “Tum Hi Ho,” “Muskurane,” “Mast Magan,” and the title track from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
