Mägo de Oz

Mägo de Oz is a celebrated Spanish folk metal band that originated in Madrid in 1989, founded by drummer Txus di Fellatio. Known for their unique blend of traditional Celtic music with heavy metal, the band has captured the hearts of audiences for decades with their distinct sound.

The group’s lineup solidified in the mid-1990s, with key members including Txus on drums, Carlos Prieto (Mohamed) on violin, Carlitos on lead guitar, Chema on rhythm guitar, Salva on bass, and Juanma as the vocalist. This combination helped shape the band’s signature fusion of folk melodies and metal rhythms.

Mägo de Oz’s influence in the folk metal scene grew with the release of their critically acclaimed albums “Finisterra” (2000) and “Gaia” (2003), which solidified their place as pioneers in the genre.

In March 2025, the band mourned the loss of former keyboardist Sergio Cisneros Anguita, known as Kiskilla, who passed away at 58 due to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Kiskilla was an integral part of the band, contributing to landmark albums like “Finisterra” and “Gaia.”
