Lucas Dangond

Lucas Dangond, born on December 7, 1990, in San Diego, Cesar, Colombia, is a renowned vallenato accordionist and composer. Coming from a family steeped in musical tradition, Lucas is the son of Luciano Dangond and Palmina Daza. His uncle, Octavio Daza, was a respected composer in the vallenato genre, and his cousin, Silvestre Dangond, is a famous vallenato singer.

Introduced to music at a young age, Lucas began playing the accordion when he was just five years old. He quickly made a name for himself in regional vallenato festivals, earning top accolades. His big break came in 2009 when he won the Juvenile Vallenato King title at the prestigious Festival de la Leyenda Vallenata, which propelled his career forward.

Over the years, Lucas has collaborated with numerous artists, and one of his standout projects was the album “Hoy, Mañana y Siempre,” a partnership with singer Elkin Uribe. This album was well-received by vallenato fans. In 2022, he released “Para Ustedes,” an album that creatively fuses vallenato with pop and reggaeton influences, showcasing his ability to innovate within the genre.

Lucas’s contributions to vallenato have earned him accolades, including a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Cumbia/Vallenato Album for his album Sigo Invicto.
