Lalisa Manobal, commonly known as LISA, is a Thai rapper, singer, and dancer born on March 27, 1997. Widely recognized as a member of the globally successful South Korean girl group Blackpink, LISA has made a significant impact in the music industry since the group’s debut under YG Entertainment in August 2016. Blackpink quickly rose to fame, and LISA’s charismatic performances and exceptional dance skills have been key contributors to the group’s global success.

LISA’s solo career began in September 2021 with the release of her debut single album, Lalisa. The album was a record-breaking success, making her the first female artist in South Korea to sell 736,000 copies of an album within its first week. The lead single, “Lalisa,” achieved phenomenal success, with its music video becoming the most-viewed by a solo artist in the first 24 hours on YouTube. The album’s second single, “Money,” also gained immense popularity, charting in the top ten of the Billboard Global 200 and breaking records for the longest-charting song by a female K-pop soloist on both the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart. Both “Lalisa” and “Money” became the first album and song by a K-pop solo artist to surpass one billion streams on Spotify.

Throughout her career, she has earned numerous accolades, including nine Guinness World Records, a Gaon Chart Music Award, and both an MTV Video Music Award and an MTV Europe Music Award—the first-ever by a K-pop soloist. Her global influence extends beyond music, as she is the most-followed K-pop artist on Instagram and the most-subscribed K-pop solo artist on YouTube. In recognition of her contributions to spreading Thai culture worldwide, Lisa was honored by the Thailand Ministry of Culture and acknowledged by the Prime Minister of Thailand.

She was born in Buriram Province, Thailand, and was raised by her Thai mother and Swiss stepfather. She developed a passion for performing arts at an early age, enrolling in dance classes at four and later joining the eleven-member dance crew We Zaa Cool. Her journey to stardom began in 2010 when she auditioned for YG Entertainment in Thailand, becoming the only applicant selected from 4,000. Moving to South Korea in 2011, she became YG Entertainment’s first non-ethnically Korean trainee, eventually debuting with Blackpink five years later.

In addition to her music career, she has explored various ventures, including launching her YouTube channel Lilifilm Official in 2018 and serving as a dance mentor on the Chinese reality show Youth With You in 2020 and 2021. In 2024, she established her own artist management company, Lloud, and signed with RCA Records. Her career continues to flourish as she prepares for her acting debut in the HBO television series The White Lotus in 2025, marking yet another milestone in her already illustrious career.
