Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., better known as Lil Wayne, was born on September 27, 1982, in the Hollygrove neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. Raised in an environment marked by poverty, Carter’s upbringing was challenging. His mother, a cook, had him at the young age of 19, and his father abandoned the family when Carter was just two years old. Despite these early hardships, Carter displayed an extraordinary talent for music, writing his first rap song at the age of eight. In 2020, he released Funeral, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, marking his fifth album to achieve this milestone.

With over 120 million records sold worldwide, Lil Wayne is recognized as one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
