Lasso, born Andrés Vicente Lazo Uslar on February 18, 1988, in Caracas, Venezuela, is a celebrated singer-songwriter who has made a significant impact on Latin pop music. Raised in Maracaibo, he was surrounded by music from an early age, which nurtured his passion for the arts. Lasso began his musical journey learning drums, guitar, and piano, and formed his first band, Karnavali, in 2007, before venturing into a solo career.

In 2011, Lasso released his debut album, Sin Otro Sentido, which included the hit single “No Pares de Bailar,” catapulting him into the spotlight and earning significant chart success. His next album, El Exilio Voluntario de una Mente Saturada (2015), showcased his versatility by blending pop, rock, and urban sounds. The album Cuatro Estaciones (2021) further solidified his place in the Latin music scene, earning a Latin Grammy nomination for Best New Artist.

Lasso’s 2022 track “Ojos Marrones” went viral on TikTok, gaining a massive following and leading to a popular remix with Sebastián Yatra. Known for his diverse musical style, which incorporates pop, electronic, and Latin rhythms, Lasso has received numerous accolades, including Best Pop/Rock Artist at the 2015 HTV Heat Latin Awards.
