Labrinth

Timothy Lee McKenzie, professionally known as Labrinth, is a British singer, songwriter, producer, and rapper born on January 4, 1989, in Hackney, London. Growing up in a large family with eight siblings, he was immersed in black gospel music, which deeply influenced his passion for music. His early exposure to such rich musical traditions laid the foundation for his unique sound.

Labrinth began his career in music as a producer, eventually signing with Simon Cowell’s Syco Music in 2010. He made his mark in the industry with his debut single, “Let the Sun Shine,” which soared to number three on the UK Singles Chart. His debut album, Electronic Earth, released in 2012, peaked at number two on the UK Albums Chart and featured hits like “Earthquake” and “Beneath Your Beautiful,” the latter of which topped the UK Singles Chart.

In 2018, Labrinth joined forces with Sia and Diplo to form the supergroup LSD. Their self-titled debut album in 2019 garnered critical acclaim for its eclectic mix of musical styles.

Labrinth’s versatility extends beyond his own music; he is also known for composing for the hit HBO series Euphoria. His work on the show earned him multiple Emmy nominations, with the song “All for Us” winning the award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics. In 2023, he released his third studio album, Ends & Begins, which highlighted his growth as an artist.

Labrinth has also worked with global superstars like Beyoncé, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, and The Weeknd, further cementing his reputation as one of the most influential British musicians of his generation.
