She later moved to New York City in 2014 to immerse herself in the music industry, eventually signing with Universal Music Latino. Her breakthrough came with the collaboration “Ahora Me Llama” featuring Bad Bunny, a track that marked her debut album “Unstoppable” in 2017.

In 2018, Karol G gained widespread attention with “Secreto,” a duet with Anuel AA that confirmed their public relationship.
