About BINI

BINI (stylized in all caps) is an eight-member Filipino girl group formed in 2019 through ABS-CBN’s Star Hunt Academy. The group comprises Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Sheena, and Jhoanna. They are known for their energetic P-Pop music. BINI debuted officially on June 11, 2021, with their single “Born to Win” after two years of intensive training. Their pre-debut single “Da Coconut Nut” was released on November 20, 2020.

In 2018, Laurenti Dyogi of ABS-CBN launched the Star Hunt Academy to nurture young Filipino talents. From 250 auditionees, 12 girls were selected and trained rigorously under local and South Korean coaches, ultimately forming the eight-member group, BINI. The group participated in various events, including the 2019 Manila Southeast Asian Games and Happy Hallyu Day 4

BINI’s pre-debut single, a remake of Ryan Cayabyab’s “Da Coconut Nut,” was released in November 2020, showcasing the group’s distinct electropop sound and synchronized choreography.

BINI’s official debut single, “Born to Win,” was released on June 4, 2021, followed by a two-part debut launch event. Their subsequent single “Kapit Lang” (Hold On) was released in September. In 2022, BINI released their sophomore album “Feel Good,” featuring the single “Strings.”

In late 2023, BINI released the singles “Karera” and “Pantropiko,” which became viral hits. “Pantropiko” especially gained traction on TikTok, propelling the group to over two million monthly listeners on Spotify by March 2024. Their EP “Talaarawan,” released on March 8, 2024, solidified their commitment to women’s empowerment.

BINI became the first Filipino artists to enter the Top Artist Global Chart on Spotify in June 2024. They topped the Spotify Philippines’ Daily Top Artists chart, surpassing Taylor Swift.

BINI held their first major solo concert, “Biniverse,” in June 2024, with three sold-out shows at the New Frontier Theater. They announced a nationwide tour and a North American leg for their Biniverse concert series.

BINI’s music blends contemporary pop with traditional Filipino elements, characterized by catchy melodies and meaningful lyrics. Their high-energy performances, intricate choreography, and vibrant visuals have gained them a broad audience and significant influence in the P-Pop genre.

BINI has been involved in numerous endorsement deals and collaborations, reflecting their broad appeal and influence, especially among Gen Z consumers. Their collaborations include major brands like Maybelline, Samsung, Unilever, and Jollibee.

BINI actively participates in charitable activities and has expressed support for various causes, including healthy living among youth and support for the LGBT community. They have also taken part in fundraising events for disaster relief.

BINI’s journey from a training camp to becoming a major force in P-Pop showcases their dedication, talent, and impact on the Filipino music industry.
