About JISOO
Kim Ji-soo, better known as Jisoo, was born on January 3, 1995, in Gunpo, South Korea. From an early age, she had a deep love for the arts, dreaming of becoming a painter or writer while also enjoying basketball and taekwondo. Her passion for music was sparked by her admiration for TVXQ, which eventually led her to explore singing and performing. While attending the School of Performing Arts Seoul, she joined a drama club, setting the stage for her future in entertainment.
In 2011, Jisoo joined YG Entertainment as a trainee, spending years honing her skills before officially debuting in August 2016 as a member of BLACKPINK. As the group’s lead vocalist and visual, she played a key role in their global success. Before debuting, she made appearances in music videos for Epik High and Hi Suhyun, as well as a cameo in the drama The Producers. With BLACKPINK, Jisoo helped shape the K-pop scene, contributing to record-breaking achievements and worldwide recognition.
Beyond music, Jisoo expanded her career into acting, landing her first leading role in the 2021 drama Snowdrop. In 2023, she made her long-awaited solo debut with Me, which became the best-selling album by a female soloist in South Korea. Her single Flower dominated charts globally. In 2024, she founded her own label, Blissoo, and later signed with Warner Records, releasing her EP Amortage. Her song Earthquake became her first #1 on the US Billboard World Digital Songs chart.
Jisoo’s influence extends beyond music and acting—she’s also a fashion icon, serving as a global ambassador for Dior. With multiple Golden Disc, MAMA, and Circle Chart Music Awards under her belt, she remains one of the most celebrated and followed Korean artists in the world.
