J-Hope, born Jung Ho-seok on February 18, 1994, in Gwangju, South Korea, is a rapper, dancer, and songwriter best known as a member of the global sensation BTS. Before stepping into the K-pop industry, he was already making waves as a street dancer, winning local competitions and even securing first place in a national dance contest in 2008. His passion for dance ultimately led him to join Big Hit Entertainment as a trainee in 2010.

In 2013, J-Hope debuted with BTS, quickly becoming a standout performer as the group’s main dancer and sub-rapper. His high-energy stage presence and expressive dance style have made him a fan favorite. Over the years, he has played a key role in shaping BTS’s sound and choreography, contributing to hits like No More Dream and I Need U. In 2018, he made his solo debut with Hope World, a mixtape that soared to No. 38 on the US Billboard 200, making history as the highest-charting Korean solo artist at the time.

Following his military service, which he completed in October 2024, J-Hope wasted no time getting back to music. In early 2025, he launched his first solo world tour, Hope on the Stage, kicking off at Seoul’s KSPO Dome before heading to cities like New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and London.
