HOSHI (호시)

Kwon Soon-young, better known by his stage name Hoshi (호시), is a South Korean singer, dancer, choreographer, and songwriter signed under Pledis Entertainment. Born on June 15, 1996, in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, he is a core member of the internationally acclaimed K-pop group SEVENTEEN. As the leader of the group’s Performance Team, Hoshi has played a crucial role in crafting SEVENTEEN’s signature sharp and synchronized choreography. His stage name, meaning “star” in Japanese, perfectly captures the charisma and brilliance he brings to every performance. Apart from his work with the main group, Hoshi also shines in SEVENTEEN’s fun-spirited sub-unit BSS (BooSeokSoon) and in the dynamic duo Hoshi X Woozi (HxW). In 2021, he stepped out as a solo artist with the self-composed mixtape Spider, showcasing his artistry beyond group activities.

Before entering the K-pop spotlight, Hoshi was deeply rooted in Taekwondo, earning a black belt and developing the discipline and physical control that would later shape his dancing. His early passion for movement led him to start a dance club in school, a decision that would eventually catch the attention of Pledis scouts. Since debuting, Hoshi has been a driving creative force behind SEVENTEEN’s live shows and music videos. In 2025, he and Woozi debuted their long-awaited sub-unit with the album Beam, a project that reflects their ten years of musical brotherhood. With his relentless energy, hands-on creativity, and infectious charm, Hoshi continues to set the bar for K-pop performers worldwide.
