About VERNON (버논)
Hansol Vernon Chwe (Korean: 최한솔), professionally known as Vernon (버논), is a Korean-American rapper, songwriter, and producer, best known as a member of the K-pop group SEVENTEEN under Pledis Entertainment. Born on February 18, 1998, in Manhattan, New York, to a Korean father and American mother, Vernon moved to South Korea at the age of five. With his biracial background and bilingual fluency, he brings a unique global appeal to the group. He was discovered by Pledis Entertainment on the streets when he was just 14 and officially debuted with SEVENTEEN on May 26, 2015, as part of the group’s Hip-Hop Team.
Vernon has since become a major creative force within SEVENTEEN, contributing to the writing and production of more than 90 songs. His introspective lyrics and experimental edge are part of what defines the group’s evolving sound. In 2022, he released his solo digital single “Black Eye,” a grungy, alt-rock-inspired track that showcased a different side of his artistry. That same year, he collaborated with Charli XCX on the remix of “Beg for You,” further bridging K-pop with global pop music. Off stage, Vernon has also made waves in the fashion world, becoming a global ambassador for Kenzo in 2023. Often praised for his calm, thoughtful personality and artistic depth, Vernon continues to push boundaries both musically and stylistically, embodying the forward-thinking spirit of SEVENTEEN.
