She began her music journey by creating songs in her bedroom and quickly gained attention with the release of her debut EP, Chapter 1, in 2018, followed by Chapter 2 in 2019. Her music is deeply personal, often delving into themes of love, mental health, and queer identity, which has resonated profoundly with fans globally.

In 2021, girl in red released her first full-length album, If I Could Make It Go Quiet, which was met with critical acclaim. The album won three Norwegian Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.
