Don Patricio

Don Patricio, born Patricio Martín Díaz on February 9, 1993, in La Caleta, El Hierro, Canary Islands, has carved out his own space in the Spanish urban music scene with a vibrant mix of trap, reggaeton, and hip-hop. He kicked off his musical journey in 2011, releasing his first mixtape Maqueta Erreapé, and soon gained attention as part of the group Locoplaya alongside Bejo and Uge. Early in his career, he co-wrote “Nuestra playa eres tú” for the film Maktub (2012), earning a Goya Award nomination for Best Original Song — a sign of the creativity that would define his work.

As a solo artist, Don Patricio found his breakout moment with his 2017 album Don Papaya, featuring songs like “La Papaya” and “Caribe Mix 93.” But it was his 2019 smash hit “Contando Lunares,” featuring Cruz Cafuné, that truly launched him into stardom, topping Spanish charts and achieving multiple platinum certifications. That same year, he teamed up with Lola Índigo on “Lola Bunny,” further cementing his mainstream success. After a whirlwind few years, Don Patricio stepped back from the public eye in 2022, taking time to recharge away from the pressures of fame.
