Leury José Tejeda Brito, better known by his stage name Chimbala, is a highly influential Dominican rapper and singer who has become a key figure in the reggaeton and dembow music scenes. Born on May 18, 1989, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Chimbala began his music career in 2012 and quickly gained recognition for his energetic style and contributions to the genre.

Chimbala’s breakthrough moment came in 2018 with the release of his track “Maniquí,” which garnered widespread attention and led to a remix featuring the renowned artist Farruko. This collaboration helped expand his reach, particularly in international markets such as Spain and Italy. His 2019 hit “El Boom” further solidified his place in Latin music, amassing millions of views on YouTube.

Over the years, Chimbala has worked with numerous prominent artists, including El Alfa, Mozart La Para, Natti Natasha, and Zion & Lennox. In 2021, he gained even more recognition when he co-released “Loco” with Justin Quiles and Zion & Lennox. The track hit number one on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart and earned triple platinum certification from the RIAA. In 2022, Chimbala performed at the prestigious Premio Lo Nuestro awards alongside Natti Natasha and El Alfa, further cementing his standing in the industry.
