Andrew Dismukes

Andrew Dismukes is an American comedian, actor, and writer best known for his work on Saturday Night Live (SNL). Born on June 21, 1995, in Houston, Texas, he grew up in the small town of Port Neches. After graduating from Port Neches-Groves High School in 2013, he attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a degree in Radio-Television-Film in 2017. It was during his college years that he discovered his passion for stand-up comedy, performing at local clubs and honing his craft.

Dismukes’ comedic talent quickly gained recognition. In 2016, he was a finalist in the “Funniest Person in Austin” contest, which helped put him on the radar of industry professionals. The following year, he was selected for the prestigious New Faces showcase at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, leading to an audition for SNL. Impressed by his writing skills and sharp humor, the show brought him on board as a writer for its 43rd season in 2017.

After three years behind the scenes, Dismukes made the leap to on-screen performer, joining SNL as a featured cast member in 2020. His quirky delivery and offbeat characters resonated with audiences, earning him a promotion to repertory player by 2022. His contributions to the show have also earned him multiple Emmy nominations for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series.

Outside of SNL, Dismukes has pursued other creative projects, starring in the 2018 indie film Call Me Brother. He’s also lending his voice to the upcoming Amazon animated series The Hospital, where he joins a cast that includes Maya Rudolph and Natasha Lyonne. With his unique comedic style and growing presence in the entertainment industry, Dismukes continues to establish himself as a standout performer in comedy.
