Coming from a musical family, Abe is the son of renowned jazz bassist Abraham Laboriel Sr. and the nephew of Mexican rock musician Johnny Laboriel, giving him a rich musical heritage that deeply influenced his career.

Abe’s love for music began early, picking up drums at the age of four. His formal training took him to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he graduated in 1993. His career took off with collaborations with artists like Steve Vai and Seal, and in 2001, he joined Paul McCartney’s touring band, a position he has held ever since.

Throughout his career, Abe has performed and recorded with an impressive range of artists, including Sting, Eric Clapton, Shakira, Lady Gaga, B.B. King, and Mylène Farmer.
