Zahrah S. Khan, born Zara Agha Khan on January 1, 1992, in London, England, is a talented British actress and singer of Pakistani heritage who has made a notable mark in the Indian entertainment industry. She is the daughter of the renowned singer and actress Salma Agha and the respected squash coach Rehmat Khan. Zahrah comes from a rich artistic and athletic lineage, with her grandmother, Nasreen Mehra, being a celebrated actress in the 1940s, and her mother gaining fame for the iconic song “Dil Ke Armaan” from the film Nikaah. On her father’s side, she is connected to legendary squash player Jahangir Khan, and through him, she is the half-sister of British singer Natasha Khan, better known as Bat for Lashes.
Zahrah’s career began in 2013 when she made her acting debut in the film Aurangzeb, where she played the role of Ritu. She followed this with another film role in Desi Kattey (2014). Zahrah later shifted to music, releasing her debut single “Khud Se Zyada” in 2019, which quickly gained attention. She went on to lend her voice to popular Bollywood tracks such as “Kusu Kusu” from Satyameva Jayate 2 (2021) and “The Punjaabban Song” from Jugjugg Jeeyo (2022), collaborating with renowned composer Tanishk Bagchi.
In 2023, Zahrah starred in the short film Khoj, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and reached the semi-finals of The Student Academy Awards. She also appeared in the film Imaginary Rain and is set to star in the upcoming film Vrushabha alongside Mohanlal.
