Yuvan Shankar Raja

Yuvan Shankar Raja, born on August 31, 1979, in Chennai, is a celebrated Indian composer, singer, and lyricist, best known for his work in Tamil cinema. Growing up as the youngest son of the legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja, Yuvan was surrounded by music from an early age. His professional career began at just 16 when he composed the score for the film Aravindhan in 1996.

Yuvan rose to prominence with the soundtrack of Thulluvadho Ilamai (2001), which struck a chord with youth audiences and showcased his unique musical style. Renowned for blending Western influences like hip-hop and EDM with traditional Indian sounds, Yuvan earned the nickname “Little Maestro” for his innovative approach to music.

Over the years, Yuvan has composed music for over 100 films across Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi, with standout works such as 7G Rainbow Colony (2004), Pattiyal (2006), Paiyaa (2010), and Mankatha (2011). His musical contributions have earned him multiple accolades, including several Filmfare Awards for Best Music Director.
