Wejdene Chaïb, known professionally as Wejdene, is a French R&B and urban pop singer born on April 23, 2004, in Saint-Denis, France. She first gained widespread attention in 2020 with her breakout single, “Anissa,” which quickly went viral on TikTok and other social media platforms. The song’s infectious beat and relatable lyrics resonated with young audiences, launching her career and making her a household name in the French music scene.

Wejdene’s musical journey began at an early age, influenced by her father, Badra Zarzis, a Tunisian singer and multi-instrumentalist. She began writing songs and singing as a teenager and was discovered in late 2019 on Instagram by her future manager, Feuneu. This connection led to her signing with Guette Music, where she released her debut singles, “J’attends” and “J’peux dead.”

In September 2020, Wejdene released her debut album 16, which was met with commercial success and earned a gold certification in France. The album’s reissue, 16 ou pas, came out in April 2021 and featured collaborations with well-known artists like Jul and Hatik. Throughout her rise, Wejdene has faced personal challenges, including the loss of a former partner and the departure of her manager, but she continued to grow both personally and artistically.
