Rkomi

Mirko Manuele Martorana, professionally known as Rkomi, is an influential Italian rapper and singer-songwriter born on April 19, 1994, in Milan. Growing up in the working-class district of Calvairate, Rkomi was drawn to music from a young age. At 17, he began creating mixtapes, collaborating with peers like Tedua and Izi, laying the groundwork for his future in the Italian rap scene. His first notable release, Calvairate Mixtape (2014), quickly gained attention, marking his entry into the music industry.

Rkomi’s breakthrough came with his 2017 album Io in Terra, which not only achieved platinum status but also received widespread acclaim for its unique fusion of hip hop, rock, and funk. This project was a pivotal moment in his career, showcasing his ability to blend genres and explore deeper, more introspective themes. His 2018 EP Ossigeno continued to solidify his creative evolution, offering a personal narrative that resonated with many of his listeners.

In 2021, Rkomi released Taxi Driver, an album that further cemented his place in Italian music. The following year, he competed in the prestigious Sanremo Music Festival with the track “Insuperabile,” securing 17th place. In 2023, Rkomi collaborated with artist Irama on the album No Stress, which was met with success and a nationwide tour.
