Benjamin David Goldberg, better known as Token, is a talented American rapper, singer, and record producer hailing from Salem, Massachusetts. Born on September 24, 1998, and raised in Marblehead, Token’s passion for hip-hop ignited at a young age, drawing inspiration from rap icons like Nelly, Lil Wayne, and Jay-Z. Though he struggled with explosive anger and challenges in understanding expressive language, he found an outlet in writing poetry, which eventually led him to start crafting rap lyrics at the age of 10. By 13, Token was performing publicly and caught the attention of rapper Hopsin, who became a mentor and helped him secure opportunities to tour.

Token rose to prominence in 2015 with his viral video “No Sucka MCs,” which quickly amassed millions of views. This exposure opened doors for him to release several successful projects, including his mixtape The Mindstate (2014) and albums Eraser Shavings (2016), Between Somewhere (2018), and Pink Is Better (2022). In 2020, Token launched his label, Never Too Different, and entered into a distribution deal with Atlantic Records. Known for his rapid-fire delivery, sharp lyricism, and introspective storytelling, Token continues to captivate audiences, solidifying his place as a rising star in the hip-hop world.
