Dhanda Nyoliwala, born Parveen Dhanda on May 21, 1997, in the village of Nyoli Kalan in Hisar, Haryana, is an Indo-Australian rapper, lyricist, and performer. Coming from a family with a government teacher father, Dhanda initially focused on athletics and achieved national-level recognition as a javelin thrower. In 2018, he moved to Australia to pursue higher education at the Queensland University of Technology. It was during his time in Australia that he discovered his passion for music, beginning to write songs in 2019. By 2020, Dhanda fully transitioned into music, debuting with the Haryanvi track “Afgan,” marking the start of his musical career.
Dhanda gained widespread attention in 2022 with his breakout hit “Up To U.” The track, which he wrote impromptu during a car ride, was inspired by the poetic works of Urdu poet Jaun Elia. The song quickly went viral, amassing over 75 million views on YouTube, propelling Dhanda into the spotlight. Since then, he has released several successful singles like “No Mercy,” “Unstoppable,” and “Ego Killer,” and collaborated with prominent artists such as Raftaar on “Chora Baba Ka.” Dhanda made history as the first Haryanvi rapper to work with English-speaking artists, helping to bring Haryanvi rap to a global audience.
