Thundermother

Thundermother is a Swedish all-female hard rock band that was formed in 2009 by guitarist Filippa Nässil. Hailing from Växjö, Sweden, Nässil moved to Stockholm to assemble a group that would capture the raw energy and classic sound of rock music. Despite several lineup changes over the years, Nässil has remained the constant force driving the band forward, maintaining the group’s signature hard rock style.

The band’s discography includes multiple albums that showcase their prowess in hard rock. Their 2018 self-titled album, “Thundermother,” marked a major milestone, featuring powerful tracks like “Revival” and “Fire in the Rain.” This was followed by “Heat Wave” in 2020, which charted across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Their 2022 release, “Black and Gold,” further solidified their place in the European rock scene. In February 2025, they released their latest album, “Dirty and Divine,” introducing new members while keeping the fiery spirit of their high-energy rock anthems alive.

Thundermother’s electrifying live performances have earned them the opportunity to tour with legendary bands like Scorpions and KISS. They’ve also graced iconic stages at festivals such as Sweden Rock Festival and Wacken Open Air. The band’s relentless dedication to their craft was acknowledged with the Gaffa Prize for Best Hard Rock/Metal Band of the Year in 2021.

Despite frequent lineup shifts, Thundermother’s commitment to authentic rock ‘n’ roll remains unwavering. Under Filippa Nässil’s leadership, the band continues to captivate audiences with their timeless sound and electrifying performances.
