About The Jackson 5

The Jackson 5, later rebranded as The Jacksons, are a legendary American pop group that originated in Gary, Indiana, in 1964. The band was formed by brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, and the youngest, Michael Jackson, with their father, Joe Jackson, as their manager.

Their career took off when they started performing in local talent shows and clubs before signing with Motown Records in 1968. The group made history with four consecutive number-one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1970: “I Want You Back,” “ABC,” “The Love You Save,” and “I’ll Be There.” Over their five years with Motown, they dominated the charts, producing multiple hits and six number-one R&B songs.

In 1975, the Jackson 5 transitioned to Epic Records and changed their name to The Jacksons, gaining more creative control over their music. This new chapter led to iconic albums like Destiny (1978) and Triumph (1980), with songs like “Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)” and “Can You Feel It” becoming staples of the era.

The Jacksons were not only pioneers in music but also in live performances and music videos, pushing the boundaries of what was possible in entertainment. Their legacy continues to inspire generations of artists, and their influence can still be felt across the music industry today.
