The Haunted

The Haunted, a Swedish heavy metal band hailing from Gothenburg, was formed in 1996, born out of the ashes of the iconic death metal band At the Gates. With a lineup that includes Patrik Jensen (guitar), Jonas Björler (bass), Adrian Erlandsson (drums), Marco Aro (vocals), and Ola Englund (lead guitar), the band quickly made its mark on the metal scene.

Their self-titled debut album, The Haunted (1998), earned critical praise and set the stage for their rise in the global metal community. The band’s follow-up, Made Me Do It (2000), propelled them to international fame, securing a Swedish Grammy for Best Hard Rock Album. This success was followed by the release of albums like One Kill Wonder (2003), RevolvEr (2004), and The Dead Eye (2006), all of which solidified their reputation as one of Sweden’s premier metal acts. Versus (2008) marked a shift towards a heavier, groove-driven sound, showcasing their ability to evolve musically.

After a brief hiatus, The Haunted returned with Exit Wounds (2014) and Strength in Numbers (2017), continuing to refine their sound and maintain their status in the metal world. Looking ahead, the band announced their tenth studio album, Songs of Last Resort, set for release in May 2025, promising more of their signature mix of thrash, melodic death metal, and groove influences.

With their ability to evolve while staying true to their roots, The Haunted remains a key figure in Swedish metal, continuing to earn critical acclaim and a loyal fanbase worldwide.
