About The Beaches

The Beaches are a Canadian rock band hailing from Toronto, formed in 2007. The band consists of sisters Jordan Miller (lead vocals and bass) and Kylie Miller (guitar), along with Leandra Earl (keyboards and guitar) and Eliza Enman-McDaniel (drums). Their name is inspired by the Toronto neighborhood where three of the members grew up.

Originally called Done with Dolls, the group changed both their name and musical direction after guitarist Megan Fitchett’s departure in 2013, embracing a more alternative rock sound and rebranding as The Beaches. Their early works included two EPs, The Beaches (2013) and Heights (2014). In 2016, they signed with Universal Music’s Island Records and released their debut full-length album, Late Show (2017). Produced by Emily Haines and James Shaw of Metric, the album earned them the Juno Award for Breakthrough Group of the Year in 2018.

The band’s 2019 EP, The Professional, featured hits like “Fascination” and “Snake Tongue,” followed by extensive touring in Canada and performances opening for notable acts like The Glorious Sons and Passion Pit. In 2021, The Beaches released Future Lovers, which was later compiled with The Professional into Sisters Not Twins, winning the Juno Award for Rock Album of the Year in 2022.

In 2023, they released the viral hit “Blame Brett” ahead of their second album, Blame My Ex, which earned them another Juno Award in 2024. Their music continues to explore themes of love, self-reflection, and personal growth, resonating with a wide audience.
