About Tanner Usrey

Tanner Usrey is an emerging force in the Americana and Southern rock world, hailing from the small town of Prosper, Texas. With a sound rooted in grit, soul, and authenticity, he blends heartfelt storytelling with the raw energy of country rock. Usrey was raised on a steady dose of Texas legends like George Strait and Alan Jackson, as well as Red Dirt staples like Cross Canadian Ragweed. He started singing early, but it wasn’t until high school—after picking up a guitar and attending a Wade Bowen concert—that he knew music was more than just a hobby. It was a calling.

Cutting his teeth on local stages, Usrey built a grassroots following that led to the release of his debut EP, Medicine Man, in 2019. He followed up with the SÕL Sessions EP in 2021, further cementing his reputation as a songwriter with both edge and emotional depth. His breakout moment came when his song “The Light” was featured in the season finale of Yellowstone, exposing his music to a national audience. By 2023, he had signed with Atlantic Records and dropped standout singles like “Take Me Home” and “Give It Some Time.”

Deeply tied to his Texas roots, Usrey’s sound is a fusion of classic southern influences like Lynyrd Skynyrd and modern rockers like Whiskey Myers. His lyrics carry a lived-in quality, telling stories of love, loss, and resilience. Fans are drawn not only to his music but also to his high-energy, emotionally charged live shows, where he’s shared the stage with the likes of Shane Smith & the Saints and Ella Langley.

Now based in Texas and frequently on the road, Tanner Usrey continues to grow his fanbase with every performance. With his debut full-length album on the horizon, he’s proving himself as one of the most compelling new voices in country, Americana, and Southern rock.
