Tainy

Tainy, born Marco Efraín Masís Fernández on August 9, 1989, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is a renowned producer, songwriter, and engineer who has played a crucial role in shaping modern reggaeton and Latin urban music. Growing up surrounded by a variety of musical styles such as merengue, classic rock, and rap, Tainy’s eclectic musical influences laid the groundwork for his future in production.

His professional journey began in his teens when he met Nely el Arma Secreta, a producer who introduced him to music production software. After a year of self-teaching, Tainy impressed Luny Tunes with a demo, leading to his first major production credit on the album Mas Flow 2.

Throughout his career, Tainy has worked with top Latin artists like Wisin & Yandel, Daddy Yankee, Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B, Bad Bunny, and J Balvin, contributing to countless hit songs that have topped charts worldwide. His collaborations have helped define the sound of modern Latin urban music.

In 2019, Tainy co-founded Neon16, a talent incubator aimed at innovating within the Latin music industry. The company has signed emerging artists like Álvaro Díaz and Dylan Fuentes.

Beyond production, Tainy was instrumental in bringing Latin urban music to the global stage with hits like “I Like It” by Cardi B featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin. In 2023, he released his debut EP, Neon16 Tape: The Kids That Grew Up on Reggaeton, further cementing his legacy as a leading force in Latin music.
