Daniel Armand Lee, better known by his stage name Tablo, is a Canadian-born rapper, songwriter, and record producer of South Korean descent. Born on July 22, 1980, in Seoul, South Korea, Tablo moved to Canada during his childhood before returning to South Korea to pursue his musical aspirations. His multicultural upbringing has had a significant influence on his work, blending diverse elements of both Western and Korean culture into his music.

In 2001, Tablo co-founded the influential hip-hop group Epik High, alongside DJ Tukutz and Mithra Jin. As the group’s leader, producer, and primary lyricist, Tablo played a pivotal role in shaping their sound, which mixes hip-hop with other genres like rock, electronic, and jazz. Epik High’s groundbreaking approach to music and their powerful lyrics have earned them both domestic and international recognition, making them one of the most prominent groups in Korean hip-hop.

In addition to his work with Epik High, Tablo has carved out a successful solo career and entrepreneurial path. He founded the independent label Highgrnd, which has signed notable artists like Hyukoh and The Black Skirts. Tablo is also a published author, with his 2008 book Pieces of You reflecting his deep, introspective nature. Furthermore, he has explored acting, appearing in popular South Korean dramas like Nonstop and High Kick!, further expanding his presence in the entertainment industry.
