Claudia Alexandra Madriz Meza, known professionally as Snow Tha Product, is a dynamic Mexican American rapper, singer, actress, YouTuber, and podcaster born on June 24, 1987, in San Jose, California. The daughter of Mexican parents, Snow was immersed in music from a young age, influenced by her family’s mariachi background. This early exposure, combined with her admiration for artists such as Maria Felix, Gloria Trevi, and Alejandra Guzman, helped shape her eclectic musical style, which spans rap, hip-hop, R&B, trap, and reggaeton.
Snow’s journey into the music industry began in earnest when she started freestyling with friends during her teenage years. After briefly attending San Diego Mesa College to study social work, she decided to pursue a career in music at the age of 19. Initially adopting the name “Snow White,” which later evolved into “Snow Tha Product,” she began recording songs in Spanish, catching the attention of Mexican artist Jaime Kohen. Their collaboration on the song “Alguien” brought her initial recognition in Mexico.
In 2007, Snow Tha Product released her first compilation album, Verbal Assault Vol.1, under her label Product Entertainment LLC. This was followed by her solo mixtape Raising Tha Bar: Tha Mixtape in 2008, and Verbal Assault Vol. 2 in 2009, featuring the single “Whatever It Takes.” Her 2010 release Wake Ya Game Up, Vol. 1 solidified her presence in the underground rap scene.
Snow’s breakthrough came with her 2011 independent album Unorthodox. The track “Holy Shit” gained significant attention, leading to interest from major labels. In 2012, she signed with Atlantic Records and released the mixtape Good Nights & Bad Mornings, followed by its sequel Good Nights & Bad Mornings 2: The Hangover in 2013, featuring collaborations with Tech N9ne, Trae tha Truth, and Ty Dolla Sign. Her energetic and rapid-fire style of rapping garnered praise, positioning her as a prominent figure in the hip-hop community.
Her 2016 commercial mixtape Half Way There… Pt. 1 further established her reputation, debuting in the Top 10 of Billboard’s “Heartseekers Albums” chart. That same year, she contributed to The Hamilton Mixtape with the song “Immigrants (We Get the Job Done),” which won an MTV Video Music Award in 2017. Snow’s versatility also shone through in her role as Lil’ Traviesa on the USA Network series Queen of the South.
In November 2018, Snow Tha Product parted ways with Atlantic Records to become an independent artist. She released the full VIBEHIGHER mixtape, which received critical acclaim and charted on Billboard’s “Heartseekers Albums” and “Independent Albums” charts. Her independence allowed her to explore diverse themes and genres, resulting in hits like “Help a Bitch Out” featuring O.T Genasis, and “Dale Gas.”
Snow’s collaboration with Argentine producer Bizarrap on “BZRP Music Sessions #39” in 2021 earned her a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Song. This collaboration marked a significant milestone, showcasing her international appeal and versatility. In 2022, she released her first studio album in a decade, To Anywhere, featuring collaborations with artists like Juicy J and Santa Fe Klan.
