Sarah Sherman

Sarah Sherman, born Sarah Nicole Sherman on March 7, 1993, in Great Neck, Long Island, New York, is a standout American comedian, actress, and screenwriter, known for her dark, surreal humor and penchant for body horror. She often performs under the stage name Sarah Squirm, embracing a unique comedic style that pushes boundaries.

Raised in a Jewish household, Sherman drew early inspiration from a variety of comedic influences, including classic cartoons, Joan Rivers, and the iconic TV show The Nanny. After graduating from Great Neck South High School in 2011, she pursued a degree in theater at Northwestern University, which she completed in 2015.

In October 2021, Sherman made her debut on NBC’s Saturday Night Live (SNL) during its 47th season, quickly earning recognition for her bold and unconventional sketches. Her sharp performances led to her promotion to repertory status by October 2023, solidifying her place in the show’s long-running legacy.

Beyond her SNL success, Sherman has ventured into acting in other arenas. In September 2023, she made an appearance on General Hospital as Ms. Finch, an etiquette tutor, and has voiced characters in animated series like Hamster & Gretel and Star Trek: Very Short Treks.
