Raised in a musically rich environment, she developed a love for music early, starting piano lessons in first grade and later adding guitar and vocals to her repertoire. Throughout her high school years, Sadie honed her craft by participating in the choir and local theater productions. Encouraged by her brother, she began sharing her music on SoundCloud, with her first song inspired by a personal experience.
In 2021, while studying at New York University’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, Sadie’s career took off after she posted a snippet of her song “WYD Now?” on TikTok. The track went viral, leading to its official release in December 2021. It quickly gained traction, amassing over 150 million streams on Spotify and earning RIAA Gold certification. The song also caught the attention of rapper Rod Wave, who sampled it in his track “2018,” marking Sadie’s debut on the Billboard Hot 100.
Sadie released her debut EP Simple Like 17 in December 2023, which features deeply personal songs like “Locksmith” and “Just Because.” The EP highlights her introspective songwriting and minimalist production style.
