Raphael Ragucci, known professionally as RAF Camora, is an Austrian rapper, singer, and producer born on June 4, 1984, in Vevey, Switzerland. His father hails from Austria’s Vorarlberg region, while his mother is of Italian descent from Naples. Ragucci moved to Vienna, Austria, in 1997, where he grew up in the district of Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus. His early life in Vienna would deeply influence his artistic trajectory, blending his diverse cultural heritage into a unique musical style that would later captivate audiences across German-speaking Europe.

RAF Camora’s journey into the world of music began at a young age. He first became involved in the hip-hop scene as a teenager, founding a crew with a Polish rapper called Rapatoi. His passion for the genre led him to join the French Connection crew and later Assaut Mystik, a French-speaking collective, which showcased his versatility in both German and French languages. It was during this time that he adopted the stage name RAF Camora, a name that would soon become synonymous with innovation in the European hip-hop scene.

In the early 2000s, RAF Camora co-founded the band Balkan Express with rapper Joshi Mizu, and together they released the debut album “Family Bizz” in collaboration with Assaut Mystik. This marked the beginning of his professional career and paved the way for his first solo project. In 2006, he released the EP “Skandal” with Emirez, and by 2009, he had released his debut studio album, “Nächster Stopp Zukunft.” This album set the stage for his future endeavors, establishing him as a formidable force in the hip-hop world.

The year 2010 marked a significant turning point in Ragucci’s career. He rebranded himself as RAF 3.0, adopting a new musical direction and signing with Vienna-based Irievibrations Records. Under this moniker, he released his self-titled album “RAF 3.0” in 2012, followed by “Hoch 2” in 2013. Both albums were major successes, charting in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, and solidifying his reputation as an artist capable of blending genres and pushing the boundaries of traditional German rap.

In 2013, RAF Camora returned to his original stage name and founded his own record label, Indipendenza. This move allowed him greater creative control and led to the release of several critically acclaimed albums, including “Ghøst” in 2016 and “Anthrazit” in 2017. These albums resonated with a broad audience, achieving significant chart success and establishing RAF Camora as one of the most influential artists in the German-speaking music world.

RAF Camora’s artistic evolution continued with the release of his album “Zenit” in 2019, which debuted at number one on the Austrian, Swiss, and German charts. This achievement highlighted his ability to remain relevant and innovative in an ever-changing music landscape.
