Phil Adé

Phil Adé, born Philip Adetumbi, is a talented rapper and singer from the Washington, D.C. area. Raised in a family with a rich cultural background, including a Grenadian mother and Nigerian father, Phil’s diverse upbringing across California, Alabama, Florida, and finally the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) region, has deeply influenced his distinct musical style.

Phil’s music career began in high school, initially as a backing vocalist before transitioning to rap. Inspired by legendary artists like The Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, Nas, Kanye West, and Lil’ Wayne, he quickly found his own voice in the rap scene. His big break came in 2009 when he partnered with Tennyson “T” Richards and collaborated with Grammy-nominated artist Raheem DeVaughn. This led to Phil becoming the first artist signed to DeVaughn’s independent label, 368 Music Group.

Over the years, Phil Adé has released several successful projects, including Starting on JV and The Letterman, earning a reputation for his laid-back yet authentic flow. He has toured and worked alongside major artists such as Raekwon, Logic, Wale, Mac Miller, and Lupe Fiasco, carving out a strong presence in the underground hip-hop scene.

In 2017, his track No Fear featuring Tate Kobang and Saba Abraha solidified his place in the hip-hop world. With his unique style and unwavering dedication, Phil Adé remains a respected figure in the DMV’s music landscape.
