Quincy Lamont Williams, better known by his stage name Peewee Longway, is an influential American rapper hailing from Atlanta, Georgia. Born on August 17, 1984, Peewee Longway emerged from Atlanta’s vibrant rap scene with a unique style and a string of notable releases. He is particularly renowned for his mixtape The Blue M&M (2014) and his 2013 single “Loaded,” a collaboration with Young Thug, which helped cement his reputation in the Southern hip-hop landscape.
Peewee Longway’s career took off when he became the last rapper signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records before Gucci’s incarceration. His initial breakthrough came with his debut mixtape Money, Pounds, Ammunition, released in 2013 under 1017 Records. The mixtape introduced the MPA Bandcamp, a sprawling collective of rappers, including Peewee Longway himself, MPA Duke, MPA Mitch, and MPA Spud. This collective was characterized by its large, loosely affiliated membership, all sharing the MPA initials in their stage names.
In 2014, Peewee Longway made headlines with the release of The Blue M&M mixtape, which featured standout tracks like “Sneakin n Geekin” and “Servin Lean.” This project solidified his position in the rap game and showcased his distinctive Southern trap sound. That same year, he collaborated with Gucci Mane on the split release World War 3D: The White Album and joined forces with Gucci Mane and Young Dolph in the Brick Squad supergroup, Felix Brothers. The year 2015 saw the release of Money, Pounds, Ammunition, Vol. 2, a follow-up to his debut mixtape. By 2016, Peewee Longway was making waves with his debut studio album Mr. Blue Benjamin. Featuring appearances from notable artists such as LoLife Blacc, Gucci Mane, Young Dolph, Wiz Khalifa, and Juicy J, the album peaked at number 24 on the Billboard Top Rap Albums chart, marking a significant milestone in his career. In addition to this, he released Longway Sinatra, a collaborative mixtape with Cassius Jay, before closing out the year with the third installment of Money, Pounds, Ammunition.
Peewee Longway’s output continued with the release of Blue M&M 3 in the summer of 2017, followed by Spaghetti Factory in 2018. His 2018 release State of the Art further showcased his evolving sound and lyrical prowess. In 2019, he collaborated with Money Man on the LP Long Money, highlighting his versatility and ability to adapt to different styles within the genre.
