Pedro Capó

Pedro Capó, born Pedro Francisco Rodríguez Sosa on November 14, 1980, in Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico, is a celebrated Latin pop artist known for his heartfelt songwriting and captivating vocals. Music runs in his blood—he’s the grandson of iconic Puerto Rican singer Bobby Capó and former Miss Puerto Rico Irma Nydia Vázquez. His early foray into music came as the lead singer and guitarist of the band Marka Registrada before he branched out as a solo act.

Beyond music, Capó explored acting, appearing in Off-Broadway productions like CELIA: The Life and Music of Celia Cruz and films such as Shut Up and Do It and Paraiso Travel, showcasing his versatility as a performer.

Capó gained early recognition with his 2009 duet “Estoy Enamorado” with Thalía, but his breakthrough came with the global smash “Calma” in 2018. The remix featuring Farruko became a viral anthem, racking up billions of views and earning a Latin Grammy Award for Song of the Year. His music effortlessly blends Latin pop, rock, and urban influences, as seen in albums like Fuego y Amor, Aquila, Munay, and La Neta.
