Parkway Drive

Parkway Drive is a powerhouse metal band hailing from Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia. Formed in 2003, the group features frontman Winston McCall on vocals, guitarists Luke Kilpatrick and Jeff Ling, bassist Jia O’Connor, and drummer Ben Gordon. The band took its name from the street where they practiced in their early days—a modest beginning that quickly turned into something far greater. Parkway Drive burst onto the scene with their debut album Killing with a Smile in 2005, produced by Killswitch Engage’s Adam Dutkiewicz. Their follow-up albums, including Horizons (2007) and the award-winning Deep Blue (2010), helped cement their reputation in the global metalcore scene, earning them both critical acclaim and a loyal international fanbase.

As the years progressed, Parkway Drive’s sound grew more dynamic, incorporating classic heavy metal influences and more melodic elements, particularly with the release of Ire in 2015 and Reverence in 2018—an album that brought them another ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album. Their 2022 album Darker Still pushed boundaries even further, blending metalcore, heavy metal, and nu metal in bold new ways. In 2024, the band celebrated two decades of relentless touring and genre-defining music with a national arena tour across Australia. Looking ahead, Parkway Drive is set to take the stage at the iconic Sydney Opera House in 2025 for a one-of-a-kind orchestral concert—an ambitious fusion of symphonic grandeur and crushing metal that reflects the band’s continued evolution and fearless creativity.
